G.R.E.A.T. Foundation Announces New Scholarship Programs!

The G.R.E.A.T. Program Foundation, Inc., is pleased to announce two new scholarship programs that will assist local law enforcement agencies in maintaining their G.R.E.A.T. activities. The G.R.E.A.T. Foundation receives royalties from the sale of G.R.E.A.T.-branded merchandise—and raises funds from other sources—to promote and support the G.R.E.A.T. Program. The Foundation’s intention is to keep royalties low in order to have little or no impact on you, the officers and agencies that purchase items from authorized G.R.E.A.T. vendors. After discussions with vendors, royalties were set at a rate that should not affect prices that vendors charge, yet still generate a small income for the Foundation. This income is used to fund some of the initial goals the Foundation has set and to help in additional fund raising. Please remember that the G.R.E.A.T. logo is trademarked and merchandise can legally be purchased only through authorized vendors.

Training Travel: The Foundation will fund eight scholarships for agencies to send their officers to G.R.E.A.T. training. Each scholarship is for up to $1,000 and can be used for travel to a G.R.E.A.T. Officer Training (GOT), G.R.E.A.T. Families Training (GFT), or G.R.E.A.T. Officer In-Service Training (GOI). The scholarship will be a reimbursement to the agency after successful completion of the training and presentation of receipts.

Program Revitalization: The second scholarship program will fund eight agencies up to a maximum of $2,000 each to help sustain or revitalize an existing program. Agencies cannot be eligible for the "new agency startup" money available through their Regional Training Center. Money will be paid directly to G.R.E.A.T. authorized vendors for incentive items used by the agencies. Go to www.greatfoundationinc.org and click on the “Funding Opportunities” tab for applications, submission deadlines, and instructions for all scholarships. Applications can be submitted online or through regular mail.
