G.R.E.A.T. Officer Training (GOT)

Prior to applying to a one-week training check the prerequisite qualification to attend.

G.R.E.A.T. Families Training (GFT) (two-day course)

Only active G.R.E.A.T. instructors are eligible to attend G.R.E.A.T. Families Training and be certified as G.R.E.A.T. Families Lead Facilitators. If you were previously G.R.E.A.T.-certified and wish to be certified as a Families Lead Facilitator, but have not taught G.R.E.A.T. in the classroom during the past two school years, it is required that you be recertified prior to enrolling in a G.R.E.A.T. Families Training.

G.R.E.A.T. Officer In-Service Training (GOI) (three-day course)

The Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) sponsors regional advanced training for G.R.E.A.T. instructors who have taught G.R.E.A.T. for at least one year.

Participants can only attend the training that is offered in their region and will be responsible for their travel, meals, and miscellaneous expenses. G.R.E.A.T. grant funds may be used for these expenses.

The FLETC may have additional funding available to offset the cost of travel and per diem for those who wish to attend the G.R.E.A.T. Officer In-Service Training who may not be able to attend otherwise. Each request will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis for eligibility. You must request assistance in order to be considered. For GOIs that are co-scheduled with GFTs, this assistance may be extended to enable attendance at both training events.
