Specialized training is available for certified G.R.E.A.T. instructors who are interested
in delivering the G.R.E.A.T. Families component in their communities. This intensive
training will prepare lead facilitators to plan, organize, and conduct the G.R.E.A.T.
Families program in their communities. Certified lead facilitators are authorized
to train their own cofacilitation teams. Cofacilitators can include teachers, youth
counselors, members of the faith community, parents, or other qualified adults who
are committed to working with families.
The G.R.E.A.T. Families Training (GFT) is a two-day class. Only certified
G.R.E.A.T. instructors are eligible to attend GFT classes. See the
GFT Training Schedule for a list of current training opportunities and the
G.R.E.A.T. Families Training Application
to apply for training.
If an officer has been G.R.E.A.T.-certified but has not taught in the classroom during the past two (2) school years, he/she must complete the recertification process before taking a GFT. Please contact the Regional Administrator of your region for more information about recertification. To find out who your Regional Administrator is, please see Regional Training Sites.
